I’ve been documenting weddings for many years. How do I keep it fresh and interesting? Besides the main feature of the day, I stay alert to sounds and sights around me. Each wedding is a collection of smaller stories: the guests who made it from out of state or even across the ocean for you, your reactions during vows, kids doing kid things, laughter to a few inside jokes, family members overwhelmed by emotions, and the like. Relationships that define peoples’ lives are the most timeless qualities of a wedding day. They’ll outlive the food and drinks and everything else that passed by too quickly, but that’s why you have someone else capture them for you, so that you can live in the moment!
