Portraits in the Conservatory Garden

The days are getting shorter and it’s back to school time again. I get the blues around this time each year but great company always turns that frown upside down. These photos are from a portrait session where this sweet couple brightened up a cloudy day. We started in the Conservatory Garden, a quiet gem of a spot, and toured down south into the more populous areas of the park. Despite the weekend crowds, there are always some cute spots to carve out and share a moment together. Yes, she did lift him up off the ground!

Peacock feathers, blue orchids, and a grand time

High five to weddings in Queens! These are some personal picks from a very colorful wedding early in the year. I’m a huge fan of all the blue hues the bride and groom picked, from the orchid peacock feather bouquet + boutonnieres to the striped cake and yarmulkes. The entire wedding took place while the sun was up and the natural light made for some fantastic indoor shots. Into the reception, we busted out the photo booth.

Big thanks to my second photographer and assistant!

A Wedding in Berkeley and Palo Alto

On the last weekend of July, I took a flight out to the Bay Area in California to shoot a wedding. I’ve been to San Francisco, but never the surrounding cities. The wedding day started out in Berkeley, a colorful and fun city to explore, and continued in Palo Alto. The weather went from light drizzle, clouds, and fog to blue skies and sun. I absolutely love the way that works but I’m sure saying that makes me sound like a total tourist. Without further ado!
