Weeks ago, I shot this couple’s engagement session. The wedding came by shortly after and here are the photos! As a fellow inhabitant of this planet, it was an all-new experience to observe a Ukrainian blessing firsthand and to see the couple donning their traditional garb. I especially love the candid photos from this wedding, which resonate with the overall mood of their celebration. The reception took place at Snug Harbor in Staten Island.
One thing I’d like to point out is that all of my chosen shots are horizontal. In fact, most of my photos are horizontal. When I look through a camera, my natural reaction is to compose the horizontal image, which I believe allows for more “story” to be told. That said, I assure you that the vertical composition has its place, most often in my portrait work.
